MANAGER: Jonathan Smalt
ARTIST: Jeff Carl
Jeff Carl is a Nashville-based singer/songwriter who recently released his sophomore project, “Survive,” on May 24th, 2016, and even more recently a music video for the title track on July 7th. This EP is Jeff’s most artistically honest and heart-felt release to date. Diverse in its style, Jeff’s writing is united by dynamic vocals, a mesmerizing falsetto, timeless, piano-based melodies reminiscent of Harry Nilsson and Randy Newman, and a modern pop sensibility akin to artists like Chris Martin and John Legend.
“Survive” is a follow-up to “Here I’m Home” (2011), a 5-song EP which drew a cult following in Virginia. It captures the story of the past few years of hiatus, one of survival, not just over musical paralysis, self-doubt, and foggy living, but also over the peaks and valleys of first loves and what it means to be honest about the changing of the heart.
Since moving to Nashville, Jeff has been expanding his musical presence through as many avenues as possible: He launched a cover video project putting his spin on an eclectic range of work spanning from Johnny Cash to Miley Cyrus. The videos have garnered over 160,000 collective views and tripled his social media presence in just three months. He also executed a self-designed East Coast tour to promote the new EP, capturing the excitement through a series of city-by-city recap videos that can be found on his website (www.jeffcarlmusic.com). Jeff also was able to perform live recently on Nashville's largest independent radio station, Lightning 100, whose DJ’s have been huge advocates of the new music, having showcased “Sleeping With A Ghost,” one of the EP’s singles, as "DJ Pick of the Week" two separate times leading up to the album release. With the year only half complete, Jeff has no plans of slowing down and is excitedly looking forward to playing more shows and festivals, planning a potential fall tour, releasing remixes of his songs, making more cover videos, designing more music videos, and eventually diving back into the studio to create the next round of music!
